Jou a’la ~ The Day Has Come

Greetings, my name is Skye Taylor also known as Jouala “The Day has Come” Bon Mambo, but I took up Haitian Holistic Priestess. I was born and raised in New York, to Haitian parents. My mother is a priestess who held on to her native culture, customs, and traditions. Publicly, we were Catholic, but they encouraged us to attend mass weekly. I was baptized and received my first communion in the church. However, after a series of events, at the age of 18 I received my first initiation, I underwent kanzo, thus becoming an hounsi sou pwen.
The experience was life altering, and eye opening. This beginning the journey that leads to Haitian Holistic. I feel like I have spent my life training, well my peers were “outside” I was at home where services were regularly held. Being a Vodouisant is being a servant to spirit. It comes with responsibility and requires meditation, devotion, and remembrance. I spent the better portion of my 20s in search to understand the process that I went through in Haiti. During kanzo, I had an epiphany of the work. Upon my return to the states, I tried to Navigate between the Waters (upcoming book), and it has been a challenge! I now look back and can understand the Fool’s Journey of the Tarot, and want to provide to others the resources that I did not have. My mother was adamant about school, so I completed a bachelor’s degree. During my academic pursuit, the burgeoning world of YouTube appeared, at the time there were not many Haitian Vodou representatives, so I started a channel. A Queens girl who grew up in Vodou. I completed 2 of a 5 year Traditional Herbal Medicine, and Acupuncture Master’s program. Then I just wanted to be a “normal” person and live a “regular” life. Welp, we are born and as children the things that we want appear effortlessly. You get to age when the no’s outnumber the yes’s. You fall in love, the confidence that had is tested. The doubt can set in and with the right environment and support you can overcome insurmountable circumstances.
My Philosophy
Harnessing Your Potential
I have had high’s and low’s. As a mambo, psychic, medium, I am no different to anyone. I’ve experienced heartbreak, underemployment, and fair share of hardship. I am thankful, however, because I am here! I believe that what you through today can help someone else tomorrow.
